The Recent Logo Philosophy

  • 17 colorful circles visualised the spirit of continues transformation by the company in facing today’s challenges, refers to the basic approach of Perum Perhutani ( People, Planet and Profit ), and symbolised the readiness and the willingness of Perum Perhutani to manage the forest sustainably and continuesly.
  • Blue, green, and orange circles forming “starman” symbolised every line in Perum Perhutani that professionalised in cooperating vigorously to reach the goal of the company.
  • The bright orange curve arrow which leads to the top which symbolised the commitment and passion of all of the whole range of Perum Perhutani in doing continues transformations and improvements to reach the company’s visions.
  • The meaning of the bright orange color : symbolised the core that gives energy to the whole elements around it.
  • The yellow color symbolised the harvest which provide abundant crops for the welfare of the people, either in the form of food and feed.
  • The blue color visualised the purity of water that flow in the forest, giving life to everything in its path, which is able to give the energy to life.
  • The brown color of wood in “Perhutani” writing represents the earth and the whole natural resources in above and below it.

Company Background

Perum Perhutani is State Owned Enterprise (SOE) woods which oversees woodland assets in Java and Madura, it has a vital part to bolster ecological supportability, social-cultural, and economy national society. Design Strategies

Existing problems and ongoing challenges

The less awareness of Perhutani Company due to the logo design matter. The current Perhutani logo does not define the term “forestry”, so that the people do not know that Perhutani company is a forestry company, although the name of company itself has been defined the term “forestry”. The ongoind challenge is to rebrand the logo of Perhutani company. The idea is to make it closely defined to the term “forest” and its resources and its benefits for the living things. Another aim is to develop the meaning behind the logo.

Current benefits and successes to be leveraged

If the goal has been reached, the awareness of Perhutani company could be increased.

Unmet client/customer needs

Customer needs a logo to increase the awareness of Perhutani. The logo that visualised the vision and mission and the meaning of the company.

Emerging ideas and trends

  • The idea is to make the logo more on the forestry concept and living things.Todays forestry trend is the bright color to define freshness, living things and nature. So, bright green is suitable to define the term “chlorophyll”,
  • Color pencil could be used in order to define “Forest Resources”, because color pencil made up of wood.
  • Watercolor could be used in order to make the details of the leaves and leaves’ gradation colors appear.
  • To develop the meaning behind the logo by develop it with another alternatives (For example try another symbol of each keywords chosen).
  • To fix the shape of the logo and make it more into “tree” and “forest”, tree imagery will be included.
  • The meaning behind the current logo of Perhutani is really meaningful, and the term “meaningful” usually refered to “colorful”. So, various colors (symbolised colors) will be included in the logo, based on each meanings.

Opportunities to differentiate

  • The logo will be different from the others, because in this logo, all meanings will be  visualized and symbolized with different colors.
  • Mix media (watercolor, digital work, and color pencil) will be included in order to visualised the forest products
  • More into the bright colors

 

Final Logo

The Blue, green, and orange leaves forming “starman” symbolised every line in Perum Perhutani that professionalised in cooperating vigorously to reach the goal of the company. The bright orange color symbolised the core that gives energy to the whole elements around it. The yellow color symbolised the harvest which provide abundant crops for the welfare of the people, either in the form of food and feed.
